John Travolta has defended The Church of Scientology after HBO’s ‘Going Clear’ airs on TV. ‘Going Clear’ is based on Lawrence Wright's 2013 book and directed by Alex Gibney.

The famous actor John Travolta hasn’t up till now seen HBO’s ‘Going Clear’ according to an interview given by the actor. He also stated that he is in no mood to do so.

Going Clear has been directed by Alex Gibney and is based on Lawrence Wrights similarly titled boo alleging improprieties in Scientology which includes physical abuse and blackmail using members confessions against them.

Since the debut of Going Clear on March 29th on HBO, it has renewed scrutiny of the church and calls from its critics for Travolta and Tom Cruise to speak out against their church. Travolta has stated to Tampa Bay that Going Clear is basically a product by those people who are not happy with their experiences with Scientology.

However on the other hand he stated that the church has been brilliant with him. Travolta also stated that since the last 40 years his experience has been so good with Scientology that he doesn’t have to say anything on such a negative documentary. He then explained about one of the hardest time he faced in his life with the help of the church.

In 2009 his son, Jett had died after a seizure and Travolta state’s that without the church’s assistance he wouldn’t have made it. The actor is now 61 and is a two time Oscar nominee. He keeps his residence in Ocala and often visits Clearwater for Scientology training at the church’s headquarters.
