Apple introduces plans to protect your expensive Apple Watch

The plans entitle you to accidental claims and extends the device's warranty

While all of you had been busy whining about how expensive the Apple Watch is and how insane it sounds to spend so much on merely a wrist watch which might become old school in a year or two, Apple had been preparing well to assure the potential buyers that their it is capable of handling the security of their device. Right at this moment, a crazy number of people would have already placed their pre orders for the device and they should definitely have a look at how Apple plans to protect it for them.

So if you are going for Apple’s standard AppleCare+ plan then you are spending a considerable amount on your Apple Watch and top it with $49 or $69 for this insurance plan which is for Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch, respectively. Under this plan, your Apple Watch will enjoy an extended warranty up till 2 years and you will also be allowed two accidental claims on the device.

Those who are willing to pay some serious money will definitely get some added benefits. Let’s talk about warranty extension from two to three years along with the two accidental claims. But all this comes at a whopping cost of $1,000 service fee plus taxes. Now this has just seriously gotten way too over the hill and is even more than a rip off. However, if you are going for the more luxury versions of the watch, then you are already paying approximately $10,000 and adding another $1000 shouldn’t make as much of a difference to you.

Since the Apple Watch cannot be separated from the iPhone, Apple has got some plans which will cover both for you. However, this applies in case your phone is less than six months old and is as good as new.
