  • Furious 7 Soundtrack ‘See You Again’ is No.1 On Charts As It Knocks Down ‘Uptown Funk’ From First Spot

So it seems that for the first time in over ten years a soundtrack is the number one album of the week on the Billboard.

Wiz Khalifa’s latest track has knocked down Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ from number one spot on the Billboard 200. Now the Furious 7 soundtrack is number one on the Billboard. The name of Wiz’s track is ‘See You Again’ and it features Charlie Puth.

This soundtrack is the first in over a decade to conquer both charts. So it’s been quite some time since the last time a number one album had a number one song on the charts. Back in 2003, the 8 Mile soundtrack was number one on the Billboard and the movie’s star Eminem ruled the Hot 100 with his ever so popular track ‘Lose Yourself’.

The song was number one on the charts for about 11 straight weeks. The new Furious 7 movie was also the number one grossing movie in United States of America and Canada from April 10-12 weekend. Last time a movie earned this much revenue it was 8 Mile.

This movie tripled earnings and was number one status at the box office that weekend. The movie 8 Mile ruled Billboard and Hot 100. This movie debuted at the top of the box office and it went on to earn $51.2 million.

The new Wiz Khalifa track for Furious 7 has also broken records on Spotify. The song which is a tribute to Paul Walker shattered two records on the hit music app. This new track broke record for the most streams in one day.

The total number for streams for the song reached 4.2 million. The other record this track broke was of the most streams in a week in 26 countries. The song is played at the end of the movie which makes it a very touchy scene.

Wiz felt it as an honor to have the responsibility to do the Paul Walker record and said it was really dope. He said that he thought about what the movie stands for as far as family and the brotherhood.
