John Oliver delivered another must see segment on his Last Week Tonight Show on HBO. This time its about the epidemic of Patent Trolls.

John Oliver took on Patent Trolls last night on his HBO Show. It is another must watch for geeks like his recent amazing interview with Edward Snowden. For inventors, patents are an essential protection against theft. But when patent trolls abuse the system by stockpiling patents and threatening lawsuits, businesses are forced to shell out tons of money.

The report presents several incredible facts about the patent troll problem in the United States. A small city in Texas is for instance housing the court where 25% of all patent lawsuits are litigated, because they are patent troll friendly. This brought the town a free ice rink sponsored by Samsung which lost several times already in that court.

Patent troll are also not stopping to sue people who just use a product that infringes a patent leading to unbelievable incidences. Watch John Oliver take on the Patent Trolls problem below.
