Apple Watch Sport Space Grey Shipment Slips to July

The Apple Watch supply situation is not improving. The popular with geeks Apple Watch Sport Space Grey 42mm slips to July

I am still waiting for my Apple Watch Sport Space Grey 42mm because I hit a snag during pre-order and ordered 4 minutes after the pre-order started. This meant my shipping window was shifting to the May 12 to 26 timeframe. Today is May 12, but I still did not a receive a shipment notification. I still can consider myself lucky, as the current shipping estimate for the Apple Watch Sport Space Grey 42mm is July.

Apple stated for several weeks June as shipping time for all Apple Watch models. Now there are different time frames depending on the model. The white Apple Watch Sport for instance ships in 3-5 weeks.

The rich geek has to wait for the popular $999 Apple Watch 42mm Stainless Steel Case with Link Bracelet also until July.

It looks like Apple is going to have supply issues with the Apple Watch at least until the end of summer. The reasons are unclear. A report recently blamed faulty Taptic components for low inventory.

One of the first Apple Watch user was famous gadget reviewer Walt Mossberg. He issued a report today about his 4-week experience with the Apple Watch and his verdict is very positive. He was wearing the Apple Watch all the time and only took it of for charging. He is going to buy one after his loaner period expires. His wife has an important message. Don't look at the Apple Watch while driving. It is much more tempting than texting on the iPhone.

The Apple Watch introduces a new design and iOS-based user interface created specifically for a smaller device. Apple Watch features the Digital Crown, a new way to scroll, zoom and navigate fluidly, without obstructing the display. The Digital Crown also serves as the Home button and a quick way to access Siri. The Retina display on Apple Watch features Force Touch, a technology that senses the difference between a tap and a press, providing a new way to access controls within Apple Watch apps.

The Apple Watch introduces the Taptic Engine and a built-in speaker that together discreetly enable an entirely new vocabulary of alerts and notifications you can both hear and feel. Apple custom-designed its own S1 SiP (System in Package) to miniaturize an entire computer architecture onto a single chip. Apple Watch also features Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair seamlessly with your iPhone. Besides the smart watch features the Apple Watch keeps time to within 50 milliseconds of UTC, the universal time standard when synching regularly with the iPhone.
The Apple Watch starts at $349 for the small case (38mm) Sport Edition. The Apple Watch Pre-order started on April 10 in 9 countries (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US) and the Apple Watch started to ship on April 24.
