Apple Watch Meets Tag Heuer Monaco

My Apple Watch finally arrived. I won't stop though wearing my beloved Tag Heuer Monaco. Emotions battle functionality.

Yesterday my Apple Watch Sport Space Grey 42mm arrived. If you order now this Apple Watch will not ship until July. I wear since years a Tag Heuer Monaco. You know the one Steve McQueen was wearing. Wearing that Tag just makes me feel good. Swiss mechanical watches are all about emotions. I also though want now to see what the Apple Watch can offer me.

The initial setup of the Apple Watch solved my conundrum on how to wear the Apple Watch. I wear my Tag Heuer on the left. It is the only way to wear it properly. Having both on the left is uncomfortable and the Apple Watch would lose skin contact and would not be able to track heart rate properly. Also one of the watches has its crown blocked, depending on the order.

Apple Watch Tag Heuer Same Wrist

The Apple Watch setup asks on which side I want to wear it. I chose right wrist. Then the setup offers to chose where the crown should be located. Obviously it makes sense to have it facing the hand. This way i can easily access it with my left hand. The Apple Watch adjusts the screen and makes the Apple Watch wearable on the right.

So now I have the Tag Heuer on the left and the Apple Watch on the right. This feels fine. The question will be how others will react to my two watch getup. I will update this report with my experience on that. I am though for sure not giving up my Tag Heuer. For now I feel comfortable to wear both.

I am positively surprised how easy the Apple Watch is to use. Obviously I don't master everything yet. I just own it since 12 hours. I am already looking forward to take it to the gym and for a run.
