A German Home shopping channel will start broadcasting in UHD via satellite starting in time of the IFA 2015.

Pearl.tv will be the first European Ultra HD channel that is accessible free via satellite. The launch of the 100% Ultra HD produced channel will be in September at the Consumer Electronics show IFA in Berlin.

The shopping channel is broadcasting live and consumers will be able to see the featured products with a resolution of 3,840x2,160px if they own a Ultra HD TV with HEVC-Decoder. The Pearl.tv UHD channel is available over the Astra satellite network. Most 4K content is right now available online through streaming services like Netflix. Roll out of UHD broadcasting channels did not really happen yet. Some networks like DirecTV and Comcast offer a small VOD selection on 4K content.
