  • Advertising Companies Flee Duggars Reality TV Show after Divulgence of Josh Duggar Sex Scandal

Advertisers and advertising companies have fleed the Duggar’s reality TV show 19 Kids And Counting after the divulgence of their sex scandal.

They say that truth well told is everything. But sometimes telling the truth will get you ostracized from your community and ultimately land you in trouble. So much so that you will be treated like a pariah and outcast and given the cold shoulder by just about everybody. This is exactly what happened in case of The Duggars Family with their reality TV show 19 Kids And Counting.

After Josh Duggar, the eldest of the kids, was accused of abusing prepubescent girls when he was a teenager and he made a shame-faced confession that ratified the fact, virtually all moral and financial support just evaporated into thin air.

For one thing, advertising executives began pulling back from lending air time to the Christian family and their show. This used to be the television program with the highest popularity ratings. But now it will probably have the lowest likeability quotient in all of TV history.

ConAgra Foods was the first advert pundit that withdrew all its ads from the platform. This was just 24 hours after Walgreens, Payless Shoes and General Mills decided to stop sending in their commercials on the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting.

Jimmy Dean, Pure Leaf Iced Tea, Ace Hardware, David's Bridal, ConAgra Foods, Party City and Behr have also announced to remove their ad campaigns from 19 Kids and Counting.

Meanwhile, CVS, H&R Block and Keurig followed suit and so the show’s future prospects seem to be nil. That is what you get when you court controversy in this politically correct age.

Everybody may have done some ignoble crime that is unmentionable in polite society at some time or another during his or her life. But cleaning your dirty laundry in public is a surefire way of getting branded.

It seems that human nature is not something to be very proud of. And since civilization is basically built upon slavery and hypocrisy, people are very squeamish about anything that rocks the boat even by a single inch. This is something the Duggars learnt too late much to their regret and chagrin.
