Sony SmartWatch 3 finally gets much awaited Android Wear 5.1.1 update

Sony SmartWatch 3 is now getting the latest Android Wear OS 5.1.1 update with Wifi support

Sony’s latest offering in smartwatches, dubbed the Sony Smartwatch 3 is finally getting the latest offering of Android Wear OS 5.1.1. Google had officially announced Android 5.1.1 for smartwatches about a month ago, and along with bringing the Sony Smartwatch 3 to the latest flavor of Android, it also features an extensive list of features and improvements.

For starters, Android 5.1.1 features support for Wifi connectivity that’s allows your Sony Smartwatch 3 to carry out all those tasks including calls, messages, emails and tracking your fitness where your phone is connected to your smartwatch or not. Apart from not bounding you to connect your smartphone to your Sony Smartwatch 3 for even the basic tasks, it also improves on the default launcher. Furthermore, it now adds support for always on screen and apps even while your screen is off.

Notifications have been given some polishing and are now better than ever allowing a new flick wrist gesture. It is also easier to send smileys now thanks to it’s scribble support. The android update for Sony Smartwatch 3 is available over the air in UK, Russia and USA with more markets expecting it any day now. The update is a welcome sign for the amazingly capable Sony Smartwatch 3 as it will breath a new life into it and will polish the user experience even more for it’s users. The list of features sure help to make it a more tempting device than ever and we believe Android wear to finally reach that point where people will accept it more readily.
