After the success of ‘American Sniper’, Clint Eastwood is ready to take on another big project.

The 85-year old Eastwood has been hired to direct a biopic for Warner Bros. which will be about the life story of Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, a commercial airline pilot who became a national hero after successfully landing a troubled aircraft on Hudson River in January 2009 and saving everyone on board.

The announcement was made by Warner Bros. Picture’s president of creative development and worldwide production, Greg Silverman, who tremendously appreciated the recent work of veteran actor and director.

“Simply put, Clint Eastwood at the top of his game, not to mention a global treasure,” Silverman said in a statement. “On the heels of his extraordinary work in “American Sniper”, it is tremendously exciting to see him explore the life of another captivating true-life hero.”

According to Hollywood Reproter, the movie is based on the book “Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters”, written by Chesley Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. The script has been written by Todd Komarnicki and the film will be produced by Frank Marshall who has been involved in the films like “The Sixth Sense”, “The Bourne Identity and Indiana Jones franchise alongside Allyn Stewart.

Sullenberger said in a statement. “I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, and veteran producers Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall. The project could not have found a better home than Warner Bros. Pictures. This is truly a dream team.”

The Oscar award-winner Clint Eastwood has directed many films in his long and successful career including Unforgiven (1992), Mystic River (2003) and Million Dollar Baby (2004). His recent film “American Sniper” was the highest-grossing film at domestic box office in 2014, earning $350 million in U.S. and $546 worldwide.
