  • Lena Headey Reflects on Cersei’s Naked Walk of Shame

Lena Headey expressed herself to be excited for the downfall of her character Cersei and its grotesque nature and how it has earned the character the fellow women’s respect.

Lena Headey has been one cruel and truly sinful queen. She has executed, persecuted ruthlessly and had the most disgusting incestuous relationship with her brother Jaime. The high and mighty queen is still the mother of Tommen, the King of the Seven Kingdoms.

But she must come to her downfall and Mother’s Mercy was exactly that for Cersei Lannister. The Sparrow objected her to walk the street naked and hairless with commoners throwing fruit, vegetables, urine at her, sitting and pissing at her, trying to grope at her and insult her. The mighty have fallen indeed.

Lena Headey expressed to Vulture that she has been excited about the role’s downfall. She said that it has been decided what was to happen to her since Martin wrote it that way but actually doing it was just thrilling.

She said that walking out naked was a challenge and with Headey’s body of tattoos, the makeup department was hectic. The wig of heavily cropped hair was also a challenge and Lena admitted that it will soon become the trendiest haircut next year. She thanked her body double for being so courageous and helping her complete the scene.

If cleanliness has a price, Cersei hasn’t paid it yet but she has definitely suffered enough and women around the world are going to sympathize. It is truly going to be the start of being the cleanliness.
