Media Player for Sony PlayStation 4 Launched

Sony released a media player app for the Sony PS4.

Sony revealed at the E3 2015 a media player for the Sony Playstation 4. The Media Player works with home server and when plugging a USB stick with media into one of the available ports on the PS4. The home server will appear as a media option in the player automatically and finding the media is simple and quick. Users may also simply enjoy music as background music on the Sony PS4.

Sony Media Player

The Sony Playstation 4 media player supports MKV, AVI, MP4, MPEG-2 TS, JPEG, BMP, PNG, MP3 and AAC (M4A) media types. The Sony Media Player is available for download in the PlayStation Store.

It is suprising that it took Sony so long to release a versatile media player for the Sony PS4. Sony fans say "Ameeeen" in the comments on the announcement and are quick with tons of feature requests for the just launched media player.
