Microsoft announces New Xbox One Elite Controller

Microsoft has announced a new Elite Controller for Xbox One with hot-swappable parts

Microsoft took the E3 press event to officially unveil its all new controller dubbed the ‘Xbox One Elite Controller’. Phil Spencer (Xbox boss) was keen to describe the new controller as ‘an elite controller for elite gamers’.

The new Xbox One Elite controller might even be termed as the regular Xbox One controller on steroids. It features a handful of new improvements. It kicks off by replacing the regular D-pad for a textured rolling pad. Furthermore, it features Hair Trigger Locks for control precision, four interchangeable paddles for driving precision, buttons that can be remapped and completely swappable components that let you alter each configuration personally.

It also features fully removable stainless steel paddles, that in attached mode allow you to keep your fingers on the thumbsticks at all times. The new Xbox One Elite Controller also allows you to fully customize sensitivity along with setting the maximum and minimum levels for top triggers of the controllers. These settings and button mappings (which feature 250 different possible combinations) will be exclusively handled through a new standalone app which will be released for Xbox One and Windows 10. Microsoft allows you to store your controller preferences on Cloud and the gamepad can carry up to two user profiles.

The new Xbox One Elite controller should hit shelves in October and will be priced at $149.99
