Microsoft nailed it with Xbox One Backward Compatibility during E3

Now you will be able to play Xbox 360 games on your new Xbox One

Microsoft took on the stage of E3 to announce that Xbox One will be able to play Xbox 360 games. This news is sure to bring a smile on the fans of the old Xbox 360 titles. This was demonstrated at E3 with Mass Effect. The setup is very similar to the way users used to play the original Xbox games on the Xbox 360.

In case you have bought a game online and it is available, simply download it on your Xbox One and start playing it right away. And in case you have it on a disc, simply insert the disc in and it will automatically download it for you to play. Bear in mind, however, that the disc will needs to be in the tray for it to work. You also get to enjoy added bonuses on Xbox One in the form of new features including Game DVR, screenshots and game streaming.

Microsoft has also made things easier for both, the gamers and the developers. The surprise for gamers is that at launch, a 100 titles should be ready for them to enjoy this holiday season, whereas the good news for developers is that all they need to do is to approve their game for the system to make them available and that is it. Furthermore, Xbox One users will be able to play multiplayer against people with older devices. And lastly, users won’t be paying again for to play games they already own.
