Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has announced on his Weibo page that a new Xiaomi Note phone will be announced on June 29

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun just announced on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo that a new Xiaomi Note device shall be announced on June 29. Considering the fact the Xiaomi note family, which comprise the Xiaomi Mi Note and the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro were already announced back in January and the fact that both these models are supposed to powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset which is yet to be released, it is safe to assume that we might be witnessing a new device altogether.

We might even witness the official announcement of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 on June 29. The handset was recently spotted at TENAA’s website. If the leak is to be relied upon, the new device will presumably feature a 5.5 inch display supporting a Full HD (1920 x 1080p) display, a 64-bit MediaTek MTK6795 chipset and shall feature a 13 MP main camera coupled with a 5 MP front facing camera. That’s all we have from the rumor mill so far.

As the date nears, we expect more beans to be spilled and shall be updating the article accordingly. Stay Tuned!
