The Apple Watch is obviously getting a follow up model in 2016. This fall the current Apple Watch will get with watchOS 2 many improvements and more meaningful apps. The big upgrade come in 2016 with new and improved Apple Watch hardware.

Today 9to5Mac released a report with several features the Apple Watch 2 is supposed to have. According to the report the Apple Watch 2 will have a camera built-in and will have iPhone free Wi-Fi access.

The video camera would be integrated in the top of the bezel to enable video calls. Another big feature will be greater independence from the iPhone for connectivity. The Apple Watch 2 is supposed to be able to support text messaging, emailing, and receiving updated weather data without an iPhone near by.

The battery life is not a major concern for the Apple Watch 2 as Apple has according to a source found that most current Apple Watch owners have 30 to 40% left when they put of the Apple Watch at night for the daily recharge. It is expected that the battery life will therefore only slightly improve. A big jump in battery life to more than 24 hours seems to be not int he cards in the near future due to technological constraints.

Apple is also supposed to release more Apple Watch choices in the $1,000+ range.

Apple has sold 2.79 million Apple Watches from launch in April until Mid-June according to a research company.
