Samsung Announces Galaxy J5 And J7 Selfie Phones with Front-Facing Flash

Selfie Lovers will be glad to know about Samsung's latest selfie phones with front facing flash

The selfie craze is here to stay and Samsung has just the thing for you with its all new Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones. Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 takes selfies to a whole new level by featuring a front facing LED Flash that does not stop you taking selfies, even in low-light situations.

The selfie fever though isn’t entirely new, it certainly is building up. Every manufacturer is looking to incorporate something new that will improve the overall selfie experience. Even the front facing LED Flash concept is not a new one, it was first featured with the HTC Desire EYE and later adopted by ASUS’s Zenfone Selfie. Apple is also presumably going to join in on the selfie action with its iPhone 6S featuring a improvements in the front facing camera and incorporating a front facing flash.

Coming back to the two mid-rangers from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 both feature 5 MP front facing cameras with a single LED flash. Both of them also comprise a 720p HD TFT display with the Samsung Galaxy J5 supporting a 5 inch screen whereas the J7 supports a 5.5 inch screen, hence clearly entering into the phablet territory. Samsung Galaxy J5 is powered by a Quad core Snapdragon chipset whereas the J7 features an Octa core Marvell’s ARMADA Mobile PXA1936 chipset.

Both smartphones feature 1.5 GB of Ram and run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Availability of both these smartphones is limited to the Chinese market for now, but more markets are expected to join in in the upcoming months. Price wise, the Samsung Galaxy J5 sets you back $225 whereas the Galaxy J7 is retailing at $289.
