Jurassic World to Cross $1 Billion in 13 Days
  • Jurassic World slated to earn $1 billion faster than any movie ever!

The latest sequel in the Dinosaur franchise Jurassic World is expected to cross the$1 billion mark today after only 13 days in cinema.

Jurassic World is the fourth installment in the dinosaur themed Jurassic franchise and it seems to be breaking all box-office gross records. Jurassic World previously broke the records for the highest opening ever during its debut weekend but the film again crossed the $100 million mark in its second weekend.

Jurassic World swept in a whopping $209 million worldwide in its first weekend and the second Father’ Day weekend followed up with the same kind of success earning $102 million, according to Variety.

The film has broken the records for the highest opening over a debut weekend and now it broke the record for having crossed the $100 million mark in the second consecutive weekend. It seems Jurassic World may become the fastest billion dollar movie in history.

The blockbuster is the latest in the dinosaur themed Jurassic filmed and had been much hyped before its release. Jurassic World is directed by Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in main roles, as the Jurassic World theme park workers who have to save themselves from the genetically designed dinosaur Indominus Rex after it sets loose on the population in the park.

Some analyst believe Jurassic World will cross the $1 billion gross mark today only 13 days after its release and in doing so will replace Furious 7 as the film with the fastest $1 billion earnings, according to Independent.

Currently Jurassic World has earned a total of $981.3 million but after today’s earnings it may well be over the $1 billion mark. Jurassic World may become the highest grossing film of 2015 or will it even beat the highest grossing movies ever such as Titanic and Avatar.
