iPhone 7 to Have Virtual Home Button
  • Apple plans to replace the ‘Home Button’ with fingerprint sensors!
  • Future iPhone Models to Have Virtual Home Button

Apple is working towards a ‘virtual home button’ by using the TDDI technology in the upcoming iPhone.

iPhone have always been innovation guaranteed and even before a new model is released rumors about its new features start circulating. The time is here where everyone speculates what the new feature in the iPhones will be and to address the long running and highly anticipated ‘Virtual home button’ rumor.

The ‘virtual home button’ if actually made will allow iPhone users to use their phones by touch sensors without having to use the physical home button. Apple is already working on the TDDI (touch and display driver integration) technology for the next iPhone.

The TDDI technology will allow Apple to give a single chip solution to the physical home button and provide a whole new plane design. The incorporation of the TDDI design will eventually lead to the elimination of the physical home button present on the current iPhones.

Due to the single chip fingerprint sensor will be possible on the iPhone. As the latest iPhone will have an ultra-thin and an ultra-narrow display design the finger print sensor will complement the whole design.

The touch sensor however will be different from other touch designs as it will determine how much of a finger is in contact with the display rather than a light tap or swipe, according to DigiTimes.

The sensors will work differently than they do in the current Apple products such as Apple Watch, new MacBook and 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro. The reason for the difference will be dedicated lights which will measure the touch pressure and will be placed under the backlight in the new iPhone design.

Other reports suggest the iPhone will also have a flash and a 240fps power front facing camera.
