China’s Xiaomi plans to enter US market with its cell phones, but not anytime soon

Xiaomi will start selling phones in US, but not anytime soon

Although, Chinese cell phone maker Xiaomi launched its first stores in North America and Europe on Tuesday, offering accessories as a prelude to dispatching cell phones in the west, but the company plans not to start this venture anytime soon.

Xiaomi became the world’s third largest Smartphone manufacturer in Q3, last year. Despite of the fact that it started selling its accessories in US, but; the idea of selling its low cost and affordable handsets is still on hold. Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra at a recent ReCode conference expressed his views that selling smart phones in USA is a part of the long-term plan and it needs proper ideas and working.

But, he failed to provide attendees of the conference and people worldwide; the exact, time and date about the inauguration of its cell phones in US. Barra also revealed that Walt Mossberg is going to pose for the camera to promote Xiaomi’s new selfie stick.

A month ago, when Barra was asked in a meeting about entering in the US market, he put forth a comparable expression and emphasized on the need of having the right client benefit set up before entering the world's second greatest cell phone market. This clearly shows Xiaomi isn’t yet fully prepared to be a part of USA cell phone’s league.
