Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 GeekBench Results Leaked

Qualcomm hopes to address the heating issues in its upcoming flagship mobile chip.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is still far from release, but it has been in headlines due to various stunning features. Just recently, new revelation regarding the upcoming chipset is revealed. Kryo, relatively customized cores, is one of the main information leaked; that is supposed to be a relatively new technology included in Snapdragon 820.

This new innovation is Qualcomm's cooling solution for one of the principle issues with the present Snapdragon 810, which temperature rapidly rose even when it is not overburdened. As mentioned above, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is far from release, but a South Korean anonymous source has made public several specific attributes of the Snapdragon 820. This information was revealed when the processor was tested with the GeekBench application, which is used to benchmark processors.

After the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 was put to the test, the results were only available for a few minutes before being deleted; fortunately, someone managed to capture several screenshots with the CPU’s results. The leaked results demonstrated that the chip called (MSM8996), which is the chip installed in Snapdragon 820, performs better than Exynos 7420 processor during the single-core test.

The Snapdragon 820 managed to score 1732 points, whereas the Exynos 7420 got 1486 points. Unfortunately for Qualcomm, the multi-core test yielded different results; during this test, the Exynos 7420 came victorious with 5248 points, against the Snapdragon 820, which only scored 4970 points.

Although if these results are compared to that of Snapdragon 810, the improvements are marginally large, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 received only 1227 points in single-core and 4424 points in multi-core. Both the results are less than Snapdragon 820 which is a victory for Qualcomm.
