Meizu MX5 is finally official with octa-core CPU and 20MP camera

Meizu which is slowly challenging Xiaomi in China, has finally announced its much awaited flagship phone, the MX5.

The Meizu MX5 has an all-metal body and components a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080p) AMOLED showcase with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 assurance. The cell phone consists of a finger impression sensor inserted with its Home button. It is similar to that of MX4 Pro but more upgraded and protected due to a special water-proof silicon coating in the interior. The cell phone weighs 149gram and is 7.6mm thick.

It is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helios X10 processor (ARM cortex A53), PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB RAM, the MX5 comes in 16, 32 and 64GB storage and memory variations. It runs Flyme 4.5 OS taking into account Android 5.0 Lollipop. Meizu MX5 highlights a 20MP back camera with a Sony IMX220 sensor and double LED flash and laser center and a 5MP front camera.

The back camera underpins 4K video capture. The phone has a 3150mAh battery and accompanies Meizu's mCharge quick charging technology which can charge the phone from 0 to 25% in just 10 minutes. Regarding integration, cell phone supports 4G (both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS, and is basically a dual-sim version. The MX5 cell phone will be available in silver, deep gray and champagne gold colors.

The price will vary due to internal storage; it will cost CNY 1,800 ($290) for the common 16GB version. The 32GB version will sell for CNY 1,999 ($322) and the top most 64GB has a price tag of CNY2, 399 ($390).
