Deen’s wife has alleged that she was raped.

Renowned drummer Deen Castronovo has been charged on several charges which includes rape and sexual assault in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident on June 14th. The drummer who is 50 appeared in a suicide smock at the Marion County Courthouse Annex.

There he was formally charged with five counts of fourth degree assault, two counts of menacing, one count of rape, one count of second degree assault, once count of unlawful use of weapon, one count of coercion, one count of second degree sex abuse, one count if second degree criminal mischief and three counts of contempt of court as per the indictment.

The documents of the court indicate that Castronovo who is a drummer for the rock band Journey had been arrested on a grand jury indictment on Monday in Salem. According to the indictment the alleged abuse took place between April 25 and June 29.

The drummer was basically arrested on June 14th after police say that he physically injured a woman. He was arrested by Salem police officers and charged with fourth degree assault and menacing. The Marion County Circuit Judge Channing Bennett set the bail at $20,000. Castronovo posted bail and was released and was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

However Castronovo did not oblige to the order and since his release on June 15th has sent 122 text messages to the victim and called her 35 times. These texts contained threats that he would kill himself.

The texts sent were vengeful and sorrowful. The court has been asked not to grant bail to Castronovo as he would once again violate the orders just like he did before. The judge agreed and has ordered that there will be no bail.

This is certainly not the first time that Castronovo has faced domestic issues. In January 2012 the drummer had an incident at his house for which he was charged with reckless endangerment, second degree criminal mischief, interfering with making a police report and harassment which involved a woman who identified herself as the drummer’s ex-girlfriend.

TMZ first reported about the news.
