  • Rihanna is the first ever artist to cross RIAA’s 100 million digital sales!

RiRi becomes the only artist ever to have crossed the 100 million digital sales mark ever.

Today RIAA (The Recording Industry Association of America) announced Rihanna has crossed the 100 million mark in digital record sales and is the first artists ever to have done so.

According to RIAA Rihanna has received the most gold and platinum song certifications ever and has received the number one spot. The honour is bestowed because Rihanna has received the most digital single awards making her the first artist ever to have surpassed the 100 million cumulative singles award threshold by RIAA.

In the statement RIAA declared the gold and platinum certifications are a way to celebrate the achievements of artists in the marketplace. RIAA has been giving awards to artists for the last 60 years and this is the first time an artist has crossed their 100 million milestones.

RIAA also congratulated Rihanna on the achievement and declared it a historical feat and an indication of an extraordinary career.

The statement also acknowledged the honour comes due to Rihanna 37 separate singles throughout her career. Rihanna’s most prominent songs include ‘We found Love’, ‘Stay’, ‘What’s My Name’, ‘Only Girl’, ‘FourFiveSeconds’ and ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’. Rihanna also celebrated the news by posting a picture of the ranking by RIAA on Instagram.

The second place with the most digital sales is held by Taylor Swift with an 88 million mark, while the third place is held by Katy Perry with a 79 million mark. Kanye West holds the fourth place with a 46.5 million mark of digital sales.

Since Rihanna is only 27 years old and her career is in its initial stages we can only assume the record will remain hers for a long time to come.

Thank you God for fulfilling Your plans in my life.... All the Glory belongs to You!!!!
