Giant Robot Battle between America and Japan is On

It took a week for Japan's Suidobashi Heavy Industries to respond to the challenge of the American MegaBots guys. They accepted the duel in a video message.

A week ago MegaBots released a video challenging Japanese Suidobashi Heavy Industries to duel of giant robots. "You have a giant robot, we have a giant robot - we have a duty to the science fiction lovers of this world to fight them to the death."

The robot battle will be of MegaBots Mark II against Suidobashi's Kuratas. The fight will take place in a year from now. Both robots need modifications to fight in one on one combat.

Suidobashi accepted the challenge but wants a melee combat and no guns. Suidobashi wants a hand-to-hand robot fight. It is not clear yet if MegaBots will agree to this. They are proud of their big guns.

This giant robot fight should be an awesome geek fest. We will keep an eye on the developments. In the recent DARPA robot challenge a South Korean robot beat the American and Japanese robots. The fight between MegaBots and Suidobashi is completely open at this point despite the size difference. The MegaBot is much bigger, heavier and is controlled by two people, almost like in the movie Pacific Rim.
