His battle with the title was publicly discussed on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Only a few days after the break up of Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, more and more little truths are coming out about what led to the couple's breakup after years and years of dating. It turns out that the reason for the break up was the partying and substance abuse on Scott's part, but there was more that caused it than just something getting to someone's head.

A source told People today that while Scott loves and is devoted to his kid, he never saw himself as the "Father of the Year" type.

"He loves his kids," says the source. "But he was never ready to be a stay at home dad." The father of Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 6 months – who admitted on the show that he was "freaking out" when Kardashian told him she was pregnant with their third child – has always allowed Kardashian, 36, to take on the heavy lifting with the children.

"Scott rebels against the crazy responsibility of having three kids," says the source. "He acts out, he drinks too much and he embarrasses Kourtney."

The couple's problems were put into spotlight this past summer during the show Kourtney and Khloe take the Hamptons, but it appears that they were much worse than even the show let on.

But it looks like Kourtney wasn't the only Kardashian who couldn't handle him. Sources say that Kim, Khloe, and Kylie also had problems with the way he was acting. In just the last year, Scott underwent two stints in rehab and a hospital stay for alcohol poisoning. The Kardashian couldn't tolerate the out of control behavior any longer.

A source close to the Kardashians says: "It was becoming a poor environment for the kids to be raised in, and she refused to let that be the case. They are her first priority.”
