  • X-Men Panel dominates with two new trailers at Comic Con

The fans were treated to an extensive panel featuring the cast and creators of the X-Men franchise while introducing two new trailers

Comic Con took place over the weekend in San Diego once more. It was a time for the fans to rejoice and revel in the company of their favorite stars representing their favorite fictitious heroes. Actors and actresses from TV and movie made their respective appearances on the Comic Con.

Representing the upcoming projects, the X-Men cast and creators gathered to treat the fans as well. It was a swarm of titans as all the major actors gathered for the representation of the X-Men franchise. That included the cast of X-Men Apocalypse.

Hugh Jackman, Nicolas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, Channing Tatum, Lucas Till, Ben Hardy, Lana Condor, and Olivia Munn all gathered to talk to the fans and answer their questions. The fans were then treated to an exclusive look of the new movie.

Essentially the new movie features the comic book villain known to the fans as Apocalypse. According to the comic book legend, Apocalypse might be the first mutant in existence. His name En Sabah Nur which literally translates into the ‘First One.’ Yes, the first mutant ever in existence is the new villain for the franchise’s last movie which is ironic.

Apocalypse was born in ancient Egypt around three thousand B.C. He had grey skin with blue traces around the features. His powers include flight, invulnerability, superhuman strength, teleportation and telekinesis.

The 30 second peak gave the fans a look at a figure standing atop some cliff with his hands raised and great machinery or what looked like it moving rapidly in the sky. While a glimpse of machinery was given in the artwork revealed by Bryan Singer at the start of the year, these machine monsters looked very similar to those featured in the Avengers’ first part.

The alien forces that Loki let enter the Earth’s atmosphere but these ones obviously look to be controlled by Apocalypse while the camera rotates on his hooded head and goes in front to reveal the grayish face of Apocalypse.

As revealed later, Oscar Issac will be taking the dreaded role. Although there has been no official sneak peek or trailer released on social media, the attendees made it a point to record the sneak peek and upload it on their various social networking pages.

The other trailer which found its way from the X-Men franchise was the long coveted Deadpool movie. Featured once before, in X-Men: Wolverine, we saw Ryan Reynolds playing the sword wielding fast ops soldier who according to the others on his team talked too much but he was in the end a pool for various mutant powers, possessing each one of them and controlled by Striker, he ended up in the nuclear reactor at the end of the movie.

Since then a spin-off has been in the process of being made. Ryan Reynolds having featured as the original Deadpool was kept on to play the character as he has some experience playing a superhero in the Green Lantern, was kept on to play the character.

Ryan Reynolds sat with creator Tim Miller for the panel of the movie where they gave the audience an experience they would be up for in a trailer. For those of you who don’t know, Deadpool is a superhero whose real name is Wade Wilson. He’s a former Special Forces op, who goes through a science experiment and ends up with healing powers.

The R-rated trailer shows how Wilson becomes Deadpool. We’re then treated to a number of quips from the lead character, who has a wicked sense of humor, as he seeks vengeance on those who wronged him.

Ryan talked about the movie saying it was the truest adaptation of a comic book hero there ever was. Same as the Apocalypse sneak peek, the trailer was also posted on social networking sites by attendees but the fans are going to wait till 2016 to watch the movie.
