  • Verizon Mobile chooses Vice as a partner for internet TV services!

The content from Vice mainly targeted at the youth will now be available on Verizon mobile service.

Earlier in the year Verizon announced it will broadcast TV content targeted teens and 20-somethings which will consist of scripted and unscripted series. In march Verizon had acquired AwesomenessTV and related it will air more than 200 hours’ worth of TV content each year. The programmes will include content such as family-friendly, live-action, and animated short-form videos from DreamWorksTV.

On the other hand Verizon just announced it has also partnered with Vice to provide additional videos for streaming on the Verizon mobile. The videos from Vice will consist of genres such as food, travel, tech and other material such as Autobiographies interview series.

In a statement to WSJ the Vice President of content strategy and acquisition at Verizon Terry Denson, revealed the landscape in the media industry is about to undergo a shift in disciples such as in storytelling, audience, immediacy and platforms.

Vice on the other hand is able to form a bond with a generation through its media content like no other service and Verizon will partner with Vice to connect more consumers with Vice. Verizon and Vice will work together in putting both Vice's storytelling with the mobile video platform of Verizon.

According to a recent research study the number of people watching videos on their smartphones is increasing. More than 36 percent of the respondents in the research watched video with length of more than five minutes daily.

Verizon has always been one of the big and traditional video providers on smartphones and its joint venture with Vice is a ploy to attract more of the younger consumers. Verizon has been trying to make a la carte system so consumers can choose their broadcasting bundles, with the help of Custom TV.
