Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch emerged as the top running back in EA Sports' running back player rankings for its Madden NFL 16 video game.

In EA Sports' eyes, Marshawn Lynch is the top running back in the National Football League (NFL).

Lynch garnered an overall rating of 96 in the Top RB Player Ratings for its Madden NFL 16 video game, per the EA Sports' official website. The Seattle Seahawks running back had the highest rating for stiff arm with a grade of 99.

Lynch got a grade of 98 for trucking, 89 for strength, 94 for juke move, 91 for elusiveness, 88 for acceleration and 85 for speed. His marks prompted EA Sports to dub him "a one-man wrecking crew."

Lynch edged fifth-placer and Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell by just two points in EA Sports' overall score.

Comebacking 2012 NFL MVP Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings placed second with an overall score of 95. He received grades of 88 for strength, 94 for trucking, 90 for speed and 92 for elusiveness, per

On the other hand, EA Sports says third placer Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs "has everything you want in an all-purpose back." Charles got a 97 for his juke move, 94 for his spin move, 95 for elusiveness, 92 for speed, 92 for acceleration and 98 for agility.

New Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray wound up fourth overall with a 96 for trucking, 97 for stiff arm, 97 for juke move, 95 for elusiveness, 94 for spin move, 89 for speed, 91 for acceleration and 98 for agility, per

Finally, EA Sports says Bell is "a dependable, every-down back" who earned a Madden NFL 16-best 99 for his carrying abilities. He also got an 83 for catching, 88 for speed, 95 for elusiveness, 97 for juke moves, 84 for trucking and 92 for stiff arm.

In another development, former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom spoke highly of Lynch's community work, per a July 15 update from John Boyle of

"Every time we called on Marshawn to do an event, show up for charity, spend time with kids, he was there. First I thought it was going to be a one-off, then he'll have done his duty, but every single time we asked again, he was there, over and over again.

"A lot of folks are interested in life, some folks are committed, and that's the difference between success and failure in a lot of respects. He's committed to the community, he's not just interested in the community.

"He recognizes himself in in every single one of these kids you see behind me, and he wants to be there for them in the long run...A lot of athletes, a lot of folks, are there when the cameras are there.

"It's what you see behind the scenes, when he's there quietly in the community, when he shows up at the scene of a disruption or disruption or disturbances and tries to mediate, that to me is the test of his character.

"I've seen that for over a decade, and I'm absolutely confident that when he's done and the cleats are hung up, he'll be out there for decades more."

Lynch facilitated his ninth annual Fam 1st Family Youth Football Camp at Oakland Tech High School on July 11. Lynch and his cousin and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Josh Johnson established the foundation in 2011, per

The foundation aims to "improve the lives of children by mentorning them on the importance of education, literacy and self-esteem," per Boyle.

Lynch signed a two-year contract extension with Seattle on March 6. His agent, Doug Hendrickson, told ESPN he will make $12 million in the 2015 NFL season, an increase of $5 million from what he was originally going to earn.

The 29-year-old Lynch is entering his ninth pro season and sixth overall with the Seahawks. He has rushed for 8,695 yards and 71 touchdowns on 2,033 carries in 120 career regular-season games in his career, per ESPN stats.
