Best Buy starts selling Apple Watch

Best Buy announces to sell the Apple Watch staring August 7.

Apple is expanding the retail channels for the Apple Watch to Best Buy. Apple launched the Apple Watch in April amidst dramatic shortages.

The Cupertino based consumer electronics company did not even offer the Apple Watch in their own stores for weeks.

Now Best Buy announced that they will carry the Apple Watch. This means that the supply vows are over for good.

The online Apple Store is now also has no shipping delays on the Apple Watch anymore.

“The Apple Watch is a big addition to our stores and website, and we know our customers want it,” said Jason Bonfig, senior category officer at Best Buy. “We are excited to bring the Apple Watch to more consumers, especially with the holidays coming up.”

The Apple Watch will begin to arrive in more than 100 Best Buy stores and will also be available online at Another 200 of our stores will have the Apple Watch in time for holiday shopping.

The upcoming Holiday shopping season will bring the first discounts on the Apple Watch. It is expected that Best Buy will offer a Black Friday Apple Watch deal.

Apple will also likely offer a Black Friday deal on the Apple Watch. The company traditionally hosts a 24 hours Black Friday sale on the actual Black Friday, November 27.

The Holiday shopping season is crucial for Apple to establish the Apple Watch as a platform. The product is an ideal Christmas gift and with the release of watchOS2 the fall will be huge for the Apple Watch.

Apple did not reveal the sales numbers for the Apple Watch in their last earnings call. Tim Cook only said that the launch was bigger than for the original iPhone and iPad.

Analysts estimate that Apple sold 2 to 3 million Apple Watches so far, making it the largest smartwatch platform by far.
