Researchers recently explained the presence of lithium with the explosion of the Nova Centauri 2013.

The presence of lithium in space and Earth as a major component in space studies. Its origin, presence and significance has boggled the minds of researchers.

Since long, it has been the missing piece in the explanation of the Big Bang. The Big Bang is the phenomenon used to explain the creation of our solar system.

Until most recently, the explanation was needing to be found. The team of scientists led by Luca Izzo at EZO from the Sapienza University of Rome and also ICRAnet, in Pescara, Italy have the answers.

They made the discovery by the use of the FEROS instrument and the PUCHEROS spectrograph. The instruments are placed on the ESO 0.5-metre telescope.

This telescope is present at the Observatory of the Pontifical Universidad Catolica de Chile. This Observatory is located in Santa Martina not far from Santiago.

The scientists were using the instruments to study Nova Centauri 2013. It is a star that exploded in December 2013 in the southern skies. The explosion was even visible to the eye. It holds the record for being the brightest nova of this century.

It has also contributed to solve the lithium mystery. Yes, the nova explosion has explained the lithium mystery. The detailed new data done on the explosion revealed the clear signature of lithium being expelled.

The data reveled lithium presence at two million kilometers per hour from the nova. This is the first detection of the element ejected from a nova system to date.

The scientists discussed their results in the journal Astrophysical Journal Letters. They said that the explosion gave off a lot of lithium. The lithium was then suspended in space.

The suspended lithium then accumulates in the new formation of stars. It is a worldly phenomenon. The new generation thrives over the death of the old generation. The old stars explosions give off lithium. It becomes a part of the new star composition.

Same was the case with the Big Bang. The explosion causing the creation of solar system also gave off lithium. It then became a part of the sun and planetary composition.
