Microsoft upgrades 14 Million with Windows 10

14 million PCs got upgraded to Windows 10 in the first 24 hours.

Microsoft launched Windows 10 on July 29. Windows Insiders where first to receive Windows 10.

The company has now announced that 14 million computers got Windows 10 in the first 24 hours.

This means Microsoft supplied millions of Windows users not members of Windows Insider program.

Microsoft says that there are still many more on the Windows 10 reservation list.

14 million is a good number to start. There seems to be no barrier for consumers to upgrade.

Windows 10 is bringing back the start menu and introduces many new features. The highlights include Cortana, Iris login and Continuum.

Microsoft also optimized the new operating system to work on older hardware.

The marketing campaign for Windows 10 is all about familiarity. Microsoft tries to take away the fear that existing Windows users need to learn new things in Windows 10.

It looks like Windows users got the message and upgrade. It is important for Microsoft to get a wide spread adoption of Windows 10 time make the unified platform a reality.
