Breaking News Updated: The IOC announces today the host city for the Winter Olympics 2022 and it is Beijing

The IOC votes today on the host of the Winter Olympics 2022 and the 2020 Youth Olympic Winter Games. The 128th IOC Session takes place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 2022 Winter Olympics will be hosted either by Beijing. Almaty has lost the vote.

The Chinese capital will have Summer and Winter Olympics under their belt by 2022. Beijing hosted the Summer Olympics in 2008.

Beijing can afford to host Olympic games. The criticism will be again as for the last Olympics in China about human rights in the country.

There are two top ski resorts near Beijing including the Huaibei Ski Resort and the Nanshan Ski Resort.

The decision for the 2020 Youth Olympic Winter Games fell to Lausanne, Switzerland.
