The Elgato Systems app outperform other players including Lutron Electronics, ecobee and Smartlabs consistently.

Elgato offers the Elgato Eve app to manage and control their set of home automation accessories. The current offering includes Eve Room, Eve Weather, Eve Door and Window, and Eve Energy. MacRumors has just published an in-depth review of the Elgato Eve gadgets. They found bugs in HomeKit that will have to be fixed in iOS9 to make them fully usable.

Speaking of iOS 9. The big breakthrough for HomeKit will come this fall with the release of iOS 9 and the new Apple TV. The new iOS release brings many enhancements to HomeKit that brings a lot more functionality to the platform.

The new 2015 Apple TV will support apps and is hailed as the hub for Homekit in homes. Consumers will be able to control their homes from the living room TV. The new Apple TV will make the TV an interactive control panel for homes.

While we see only daily downloads of HomeKit apps in the hundreds, this will change dramatically this fall. The stringent requirements on security for HomeKit has delayed many manufacturers to release their HomeKit accessories. They should though be able to come to market in time for the crucial holiday shopping season.

Sensor Tower's analytics is based on over 75,000 apps connected to their App Store Optimization platform. The Estimated App Worth algorithm takes that data delivering accurate estimates of revenue and downloads for any app in the app store.

The firms proprietary algorithm takes into account many different factors including user numbers (on a per country basis, app market value), revenue rankings in each country (normalized by country and category), user reviews on a per country basis, app category, recent user growth compared to historical growth, and more.

The Sensor Tower model captures the transaction handled by Apple App Store and Google Play, which are In-App Purchases (IAP) and the price of Paid Apps, other revenues like sponsors, advertisement or Amazon App store are not included. The results of revenue analysis are showing the net revenue, which is after the 30% cut of the app stores, so the publicly published figures may be higher.
