Travis Scott Arrested For Urging Fans to Jump Off Barriers at Lollapalooza

The hip-hop artist was charged with disorderly conduct and released after posting a bail

Hip-hop artist Travis Scott is arrested and charged with reckless conduct at Lollapalooza.

The 23-year old singer was performing at the music festival. He incited the fans to jump off the barricades and rush the stage, ABC7 reports.

The situation could have been worst but security got things under control. Travis Scott was stopped from performing and the show had to end early. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The Office of Emergency Management issued a statement later, confirming artist has been arrested for causing an all out riot.

“The performer played one song and then began telling fans to come over the barricades. Due to securities quick response, the situation was remedied immediately and no fans were injured. The performer fled the scene and was taken into custody a short while later.”

Travis was later charged with disorderly conduct and was released after posting a bail.

Lollapalooza is an annual music festival which began in 1991. It features a number of artists from different genres of music. This first day kicked off with performances of Paul McCartney, The Weeknd and Alabama Shakes.

Lollapalooza is the one of most profitable and most-visited music festivals. It draws up to 300,000 people every year and generates millions of bucks. The three-day festival will run from July 31 to August 2.

Despite such a huge attendance, Lollapalooza generally goes smoothly. About 100,000 people attended the first day of festival and only seven people were arrested. I8 were arrested on second day. Less than 100 concertgoers were taken to the hospitals. Most were treated for dehydration and alcohol related issues.
