Windows 10 speeds Up Xbox One in November

Microsoft extends Windows 10 to Xbox One this fall. The new Xbox One interface will be much faster thanks to Windows 10.

Xbox One will get Windows 10 power in November. At the gamescom 2015 Microsoft announced to release the Fall Xbox One update that will make Xbox One user interface much faster. Microsoft will release a test version for preview members in September.

The Windows 10 update on Xbox One is bringing Cortana to the Xbox One. Games can for instance use her to check on friend status without leaving a game. The Windows 10 on Xbox does of course look different than on a PC. The user interface is still game centric and optimized to be used with a gaming controller. Below Microsoft's s Larry Hryb and Richard Irving discuss the new features coming to Xbox One this fall.

Microsoft also announced at the gamescom DVR for Over-the-Air TV is coming to Xbox One as a subscription-free service in 2016. Once Xbox One is set up for over-the-air TV, Xbox One owners will be able to record their favorite TV shows, movies and sporting events and store them onto a hard drive, so the amount of recorded content is only limited by the size of the drive.

Microsoft says that this Holiday season Xbox One has the biggest game line-up in history leading into 2016. The company debuted world-premiere gameplay of anticipated exclusives Crackdown 3, Scalebound and Killer Instinct Season 3, alongside a new gameplay demo of the heavily anticipated Quantum Break.

Xbox also announced Halo Wars 2 - an exciting new strategy game packed with fast-paced action, massive battles and an all-new Halo story, coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 in fall 2016.

Microsoft stunned Halo fans with the release of the Halo 5 Xbox One Limited Edition Bundle.
