iPhone Market Share Grows in Europe falls in United States in Q2

The new report from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech for Q2 2015 shows the Apple iPhone gaining again marketshare in the 5 biggest European markets. Apple lost market share in the United States.

The new iPhone 6S is around the corner. It is expected that Apple will unveil the new iPhone 6S on September 8. Ahead of the launch of the new iPhone sales of the current release are usually slowing down. The iPhone 6 is though a continuous seller.

The new Kantar Worldpanle ComTech report reveals that Apple is growing the iPhone market share in the 5 big European markets Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

"Apple iOS returned to growth across all of Europe’s ‘big five’ markets, as it recorded its first year-on-year gain in France since February 2015,” reported Carolina Milanesi, chief of research at Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.

“In the U.S., as we forecasted last month, Android’s growth continued in the quarter ending June 30, with both Samsung and LG increasing their share sequentially. 43% percent of all Android buyers mentioned a ‘good deal on the price of the phone’ as the main purchase driver for their new device.”

According to the Kantar Worldpanel Android holds 66.1% market share in the United States. iOS stands at $30.5 and Microsoft Windows is at third place with 3%.

The launch of the new iPhone 6S is very likely increase the market share of the iPhone in the United States in the next months.
