iPhone 6S Bend Test Teased

The original Bendgate guy has teased bending the new iPhone 6S. He presented an iPhone 6S back shell for the test.

The iPhone 6 had an embarrassing scandal triggered by a video from Unbox Therapy. It should how an iPhone 6 Plus can be bent with bare hands. The video went viral and has to date over 66 million views.

Now Lewis Hilsenteger is back and teased today in a video an iPhone 6S bend test. He shows in the video a gold iPhone 6S back shell. Hilsenteger is comparing the dimensions of the iPhone 6S shell to the iPhone 6 shell. There are several places where the iPhone 6S is thicker, especially around the area where bendgate started. The iPhone 6S shell is 2g lighter despite having thicker areas. This supports the rumor that Apple is using the new 7000 series aluminum as in the Apple Watch Sport.

It is not clear if the iPhone 6S shell Hilsenteger shows is legit. It is though very similar to the leaked images that surfaced a couple weeks ago. How he got that unreleased iPhone 6S part is unclear. Also unknown is how much he paid for it.

The viral Bendgate video made a tidy profit for Unbox Therapy. He got some money to invest. Hilsenteger knows that there will bend test videos as soon as the iPhone 6S comes out. He beats the competition by already doing a bend test on the leaked iPhone 6S back shell.

The iPhone 6S is expected to be unveiled on Wednesday, September 9.
