Stephen Colbert Excited to Start Hosting The Late Show

Stephen Colbert has been rehearsing and planning for his hosting regime on The Late Show and is glad that CBS has given him full control.

Stephen Colbert will be taking reign of the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. CBS announced his name to take over the slot earlier this year. His name was announced by CBS after David Letterman retirement.

He expressed that he was honored and excited at the same time for the privilege of hosting the show. He became a part of the CBS Summer TCA Tour while the new schedule for the network was announced.

While talking at the Television Critics Association press tour on Monday, Colbert revealed his first guest. Colbert's first Late Show guest from the musical world will be Kendrick Lamar.

He said that Lamar’s performance on his show The Colbert Report. He said that he likes the stars who can talk. They give him material to work with. He learnt his trait that way.

Kendrick was someone who talked so he was glad to have him to kick the show off. Colbert is excited about the tempo that he is building the show up to.

Another person he is excited to invite and talk to is Donald Trump. He has been rehearsing for the show since he was announced to host it. He called it “Dry Trumping”.

He said that he was just praying every night that Trump doesn’t drop out of the running before he has had the chance to have him on the show.

He said that he was grateful to CBS director Moonves had given him full control of the show. His first guest, he announced, was George Clooney. He also talked about making Jon Stewart a little sentimental. He is confident about his skill as a comedian.

Even though there is talk that the political humor on late night will be hogged by his rivals. Colbert is confident that his skill is new and faces not threat from his rivals. He has had advice from his predecessor as well. He has had guidance from Letterman about the show.

Letterman answered all his questions and queries and Colbert is all set. He said that he could not wait to get in the saddle and just start the show. The show is scheduled to start in September.
