World is Not Ending by Asteroid Next Month says NASA
  • NASA ends Rumor regarding Deadly Asteroid

NASA has once and for all ended a rumor. It was regarding a deadly asteroid that was going to strike earth in September.

Life goes on. An internet meme rumor had it that in September of this year an asteroid would hit earth. And it would wipe off all of life from the face of the planet. But NASA has laughed off the rumor as so much bosh and tosh.

It is a load of bunkum according to the experts at NASA. The flying rumor had it that a massive asteroid would strike earth. That is some time between September 15th and September 28th. However, NASA confirmed the fact that no such thing was going to happen.

It was all a hoax meant to frighten people off.

"There is no scientific basis -- not one shred of evidence -- that an asteroid or any other celestial object will impact Earth on those dates," said Paul Chodas, manager of NASA's Near-Earth Object office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

The doom-mongers had tried to strike terror into the hearts of ordinary people as a prank. NASA has re-assured all of humanity. The time span sandwiched between next century will be free of any asteroid strikes. The chances are extremely small. Close to 0.01%.

The false rumors had been building up in cyberspace. Various eccentric weblogs and fake sites had been proliferating on the Internet. And they had spread the news. Supposedly the Western Hemisphere will be devastated by an asteroid attacking the planet.

Scientists scoff at the idea. They say that if such were the case, we should have seen evidence of such an asteroid in the sky.

"If there were any object large enough to do that type of destruction in September, we would have seen something of it by now," Paul stated.

But close scrutiny has yielded no large object. It is all hearsay and pure conjecture. A lot of speculation often leads the mind to go awry and haywire. Some conspiracy theorist’s ideas which stink of loser bait must have given rise to this fake news.

NASA has always had a calming effect on humanity’s worst thoughts. That is about aliens and foreign objects hitting earth. Three years ago it quelled a rumor that a lot of space debris was going to hit earth and wipe out the entire population.

Also the conspiracy theory that the world would end suffered a letdown. It was supposed to occur in 2012 in accordance with the Ancient Mayan Calendar. That rumor turned out to be total crap.

No such thing happened despite the idea becoming so popular that even a film or two was made on it. This is how science kills a beautiful theory via an ugly fact. It is an eye opener alright.

"Again, there is no existing evidence that an asteroid or any other celestial object is on a trajectory that will impact Earth," said Chodas. "In fact, not a single one of the known objects has any credible chance of hitting our planet over the next century."

The irrational fears and death wishes of humanity as a collective agency are too many to list. And whereas art disturbs, science re-assures us that all is well.
