It has been said that carbon credits have impaired climatology activism in certain nations.

Carbon credits got generated by the Ukraine and Russia. But they actually didn’t help much in case of climate change. The plan propagated by the United Nations failed miserably. In fact, 600 million tones of emissions may have escaped into the air.

In some cases, chemicals got made. And then they were deconstructed or reverse engineered in order to claim the money. The internal affairs of the UN led to the Ukraine and Russia trying to claim carbon credits.

The project was termed Joint Implementation. But only later on was it discovered that most of the claims made by these countries was just a load of hooey.

A study from the Stockholm Environment Institute reveals that most of the Russian and Ukrainian credits were actually "hot air".

No emissions got cut by even a quarter. It was a case of fraud on a vast scale. Over 60 projects got examined. More than 70% of them didn’t measure up to the standards.

Although in the beginning a façade was put up. That is to show that work was being done, starting from four years back, things went awry. Unlike Russia and the Ukraine, Poland and Germany did clean up their act. And that too very diligently and with 100% efficiency.

Germany and Poland were extra-vigilant as regards their backyards. But Russia and the Ukraine didn’t need to own up to their environmental guilt. so they decided to defraud the United Nations.

The destruction of chemicals did take place. But it was a fake show of good will. In fact, no solid action was taken by Russia and the Ukraine. The claiming of carbon credits was a big dud.

The same phenomenon has already been seen in case of China. But the Russian authorities have said that no such thing happened. They are defending their right to carbon credits. And the fight is being fought tooth and nail.

The climatic conditions are changing for the worse. Pollution is getting to be more and more rampant. The bad effects on the weather are obvious from its erratic nature. Rainstorms, floods, heat in winter and cold in summer.

These are just some of the deleterious effects of global warming. And mankind alone is responsible for this self-inflicted misery. The imminent mass extinctions of the world’s flora and fauna is a sad fact.

It mean that biodiversity will take a blow from the measures taken by man. It is indeed a dire situation we find ourselves in. We are caught between a back-to-the-beasts approach and a dystopian-1984-technocracy. And mankind is puzzled and doesn’t know what to do.
