2015 Honda Fit Recalled due to Ignition Coil Issue

Today Honda announced a recall to replace the ignition coils in its 2015 models, free of charge!

Honda made a very interesting announcement today. The automaker gave out a recall statement on its own website. According to the statement Honda is going to take part in a voluntary recall.

Honda revealed it is recalling 992 units of its own cars. The recalled cars consist of the 2015 model-year Fit vehicles in Canada. The recall by Honda will be free of charge for customers.

Honda announced the recall due to a defect in the ignition coils of the cars. The coils had a risk of degrading over time. The coils were present in the electrical noise suppression capacitors.

The recalled cars will be updated with repaired parts free of charge. The defect could cause the vehicle’s engine to stall. There have been no accidents or injuries as of yet but an accident is possible if the engine seizes.

Honda stated that it wants to encourage customers to bring their vehicles to authorized dealers. It wants the recall to happen as soon as possible, Honda will also start sending out mail notifications to its customers.

The mail notifications are scheduled to start from the beginning of October 2015. Customers can also confirm if their vehicles are even part of the recall. Customers can check their vehicle status at the website www.honda.ca/recalls. Or the recall details can be received by calling on the number 1-888-9HONDA9.
