Boeing 777-9X: World's Biggest Twin-Engine Jet Airliner
  • The Biggest Twin Engine Boeing 777-9X Jet Airliner is Almost a Reality

Now the biggest twin engine Boeing 777-9X jet airliner is almost a full-fledged reality.

The Boeing Corporation is in full swing. Its engineering team is busy constructing the hugest twin engine jet airliner on the face of the planet. It will be called the 777-9X and is a part and parcel of the 777X series of aircraft.

For all tourists and individuals tearing up the air miles, this is good news indeed. The wings of the airplane are humongous. The wings are so large in fact that they had to be made to be of the folding variety. The wingtips furthermore have hinges.

This is a design philosophy that has been applied for the first time in history. At least in the world of business and aeronautics, this is an anomaly. It’s been nearly a century since the Boeing Company began operations.

And the largest wingspan on an aircraft to enter the empyrean heights belongs to this new number. 53 feet in width, the wingspan has hinged tips that measure 12 feet each. Certain impediments will prevent these hinges from folding at any time. The prototype of the airplane is already here and it will be air-tested soon.

It is during the duration of this testing process that any last minute changes will be made to the aircraft’s odds and ends. As for the finalized design, it will be something that will amaze the world.

The gigantic wings will act like a glider’s upper flaps. They will lend extra lift power to the aircraft. More than 12% more fuel will be saved thanks to this scheme of things than in the Airbus A350.

Boeing 777 planes have been in operation since 1995 or so. As for the 777X, it has been in the works for the past 700 days or so. However, just seven days ago the clamor got to be impossibly loud regarding this new design in aircraft.

Twitter and Facebook went head over heels in praise of the 777-9X. It seems that word gets around fast. Especially the inner sanctum of the aircraft was to die for and got the most likes and commentary.

The cabin will be quite spacious, according to CNN. Over 400 travelers will sit in the airplane. Comfortable, wide and airy. That is the description that perfectly fits the new piece of aeronautical equipment.

As for the large wings, they will be baked in the construction factories of the Boeing Company. This aircraft is definitely not made for flying but cruising the blue cloudy skies!
