iPhone 6S Geekbench Report and other Fake iPhone 6S Rumors

The iPhone 6S unveiling is only two days away and the Apple rumor mill is now in its highest gear. This is the time when the most fake rumors appear.

Apple will unveil the iPhone 6S on Wednesday at a media event in San Francisco. This is only two days from today. The attention is now rising sharply amongst consumers around the world. Every new little tidbit that leaks ahead of the big Apple keynote is getting huge exposure.

This is the time when fake rumor thrives. One of the most obvious is a new iPhone 6S Geekbench report that leaked on Chinese social media site Weibo. Leaker @KJuna has published what is supposed an iPhone 6S Geekbench report. These reports are the most simple to fake.

There was a similar report about a month ago. While the new report shows a single-core score of 2,248 and a multicore score of 4,036, the August version had 1,811 and 4,577 respectively. Obviously both are fake. Until a iPhone 6S Geekbench 3 report is not showing up here, it is fake.

@KJuna has another very questionable diagram published. The document says that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus have displays with higher resolution. The iPhone 6S would have 2000x1125 with 488ppi and the iPhone 6S Plus would have a 2208x1342px at 460ppi. The odd pixelnumbers do not make much sense.

The photo above is supposed to show the new A9 CPU. @OnLeaks spotted the image on Weibo's @GeekBar. Is this photo real? Maybe. Does it tell anything new? No. It is clear that Apple will power the iPhone 6S by a new A9 CPU.

In the hours ahead of the iPhone 6S event all leaks and rumor reports should be taken with a good sized grain of salt.

The Apple keynote will be streamed live online starting at 10am PDT on Wednesday, September 9.
