Microsoft Demos Office for iPad at Apple Event

This is unique. Microsoft is on stage at the Apple Event demoing Office for iPad on the iPad Pro.

The world just changed. Microsoft is demoing at an Apple Event. Apple invited Microsoft to demonstrate Microsoft Office on the new iPad Pro. When Schiller announced them on stage the audience reacted in disbelieve.

The Microsoft demo is an historic moment. Microsoft and Apple compete directly with their tablets for the enterprise market. Still, Microsoft decided to present their software on the new iPad Pro.

It was the right thing to do. Microsoft has huge success with their iOS apps. On the other hand the availability of Office on the Apple devices can hurt the Surface tablet sales.

The Apple keynote will be streamed live starting at 10am PDT. The Apple Live stream works via Apple's HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later.

For the first time Apple events can be streamed on a PC. It works with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires a second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later.
