Apple Kills the Gold iPhone 6 in Favor for the iPhone 6S

The new iPhone 6 line-up got cut after the announcement of the new iPhone 6S.

Apple makes sure that consumers are more drawn to the new iPhone 6S by removing the gold color option on the iPhone 6. The gold and the new rose gold are exclusive iPhone 6S colors now.

The introduction of the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus has cut the prices of the iPhone 6 by $100. The new pricing is already reflected on the Apple Store.

The gold iPhone 6 has only disappeared from the Apple Store. There is still inventory of gold color iPhone 6 at retailers. We spotted one at Walmart, but it still carries the old price of $649.

Best Buy also still offers the gold iPhone 6 and offers already the reduced pricing. On contract iPhone 6 16GB sell for $99.99.

The retailer and committed Apple partner has an remarkable deal on a gold iPhone 6 128GB on Sprint for $99.99. The savings on this deal are a whopping $300.

Apple also removed the 128GB storage option from the iPhone 6.

The gold iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 128GB models will eventually run out of stock. This will happen latest by the end of the year. During Black Friday 2015 sales retailer and carriers will make sure to clear out as much as possible from their iPhone 6 inventory.

While the attention is now on the iPhone 6S, many consumers will buy the more affordable iPhone 6. The new iPhone 6S has several big improvements that will drive many upgrades. Consumers that plan to buy an iPhone 6 should also look at the used and refurbished market.

iPhone 6S owners who want to show off need to chose the new rose color, as no iPhone before was offered in this color. Rose gold is though not everyone's taste.

Apple will start taking pre-orders for the new iPhone 6S on Saturday. The iPhone 6S will ship on September 25.
