Australian Police drive $270,000 McLaren 650S Supercar

The New South Wales Police department in Australia took delivery of a McLaren 650S Supercar. Car chases just became unfair.

Police usually drive boring cars. In Australia some lucky officers are driving a new McLaren 650S supercar retailing in the US for about $270,000. The McLaren sprints from 0 to 60mph in under 3 seconds.

The McLaren 60S with Australian Police painting has been spotted by Instagram user TheLowDown sitting on a truck. It looks like straight out of a street racing video game painted in bright yellow.

Game over.

How can an Australian police department afford a $270,000 supercar? They can't. New South Wales Police (NSW) has told that the McLaren is a donation. The car is part of charity project that raises money for the families of fallen police.

This is not the first supercar that the NSW Police has in their car park. They also got donated Audi RS4 and a Porsche Panamera.

The new Police McLaren 650S will debut at the Bathurst 1000 touring car race held at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales. The Bathurst 2015 takes place on October 8-11.

Last year the NSW Police showed off a supercharged Ford Falcon GT with 800hp at Bathurst, created by racing legend Dick Johnson. The NSW Police is used to fast and powerful cars. The new McLaren does not have 800hp, but is the best looking.
