Samsung Announced its mid-range Galaxy J2 in India

The mid range phone features an Ultra Data Saving Mode

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy J2 smartphone in India with a budget ranged price tag and 4G LTE connectivity to make it an attractive proposition in the country.

This device is the fourth member of the Samsung’s “J” line. The Galaxy J2 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 SoC paired with a 1GB RAM.

It has 4.7-inch qHD Super AMOLED display. The storage department is handled by an 8GB internal storage. There is also the microSD card slot which can accommodate up to 128GB of memory.

The phone is expected to run Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with the latest version of TouchWiz. There will be a 5MP camera on the back and 2MP camera on the front.

The phone will be backed up by a 2000mAh battery. Galaxy J2 comes with connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Dual SIM, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.0. The best feature of the phone is the Ultra Data Saving Mode.

This feature has been developed at the R&D facilities in India. The feature and its UI are specifically designed to meet Indian audience needs and desires.

The feature can bring up to 50% savings on a data plan, increase the phone's standby time up to two times and can free up to 11% of the RAM.

This is quite appealing in a very low price. Mr. Asim Warsi, Vice President, Marketing, IT & Mobile at Samsung India also admired the efforts put into the phone and said that the Galaxy S2 reinforces Samsung’s commitment to 'Make in India'.

The Galaxy J2 will retail in gold, white and black colors blended with the metallic finish and the faux leather back panel. The Galaxy J2 will be available from September 21.

It will be priced at INR 8, 490 or $125.
