The most notably highlight of the Miss America 2016 pageant was the apology to Vanessa Williams. Back in 1983 Williams was crowned the first African American Miss America. In a scandal triggered by nude photos that got published by Penthouse, she was forced by the Miss America organization to give back her title.

Now 3 decades later the Miss America organization made a public apology to the famous singer and actress. Williams served as the head judge on this year's pageant. Which is a big sign that she has forgiven the organization.
