Another celebrity gets his social media account hacked. This time it is hit Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder.

Earlier this month the Facebook accounts of models Irina Shayk and Doutzen Kroes were hacked. The hacker had fun posting adult material. Yesterday the Twitter account of actor Ian Somerhalder was taken over by a hacker. The hacker was more reasonable and appears to be very familiar with the actor.

The hacker posted about a dozen tweets according to JustJared. One of them said: "i lOVE U @ninadobrev". Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have been actually a couple. They broke up in 2013. Ian Somerhalder is married to Nikki Reed now.

Since 2009, 36-year-old Ian Somerhalder has played the vampire Damon Salvatore as a series regular in The CW television drama series The Vampire Diaries. Nina Dobrev is one of his co-stars in the popular series. It is likely that the hacker is a fan of the show.

Celebrities need extra security for their social media accounts to avoid embarrassing situations like this one. It appears that celebrities are now the target of hacker attacks on a regular basis. Monitoring and hardening of social media accounts become a necessity for anyone that is in the public spotlight.

Hacked social media accounts are less dramatic as hacked computers and smartphones. There have been several scandals including the fappening that revealed very private photos of celebrities.
